Easy Italian Casserole

Italian Casserole Completed

This is a super easy recipe that I have been making for years. I am not really sure where it came from, but it is a favorite in our house. Even picky eaters (AKA my step daughters) love this recipe. What else is good about it is that you can change it up for your own taste. You can always use more ground beef, or if you want to save money, just add a little more pasta.

Here are the ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs. Ground Beef (whatever your preference, and type works)

1  lb. Elbow Macaroni

2  24 oz. Jars Spaghetti Sauce

1  15 oz can Cut Green Beans (drained)

2 cups shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Parmesan Cheese to taste

meat cooking

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Start the water to cook the macaroni according to directions. Cook ground beef until brown. Drain grease and place in your casserole dish. Once pasta is finished, drain that and place in casserole dish with the ground beef. You can keep the pasta a bit al dente because it will cook a little longer in the oven, but you don’t have to. I like to start mixing the meat and pasta now to make sure it is blended well.

Once mixed, add one jar of spaghetti sauce and the drained green beans. Mix until sauce is incorporated through out the dish. I like to use 2 jars of sauce because I like to have this as left overs and one jar tends to be dry. Now, you can add half of the second jar and mix some more. I know it sounds repetitive, and if you want you can just add all the sauce a once. I just like to get everything mixed really well.

Sprinkle the mozzarella on top of the mixture. Now you can put the casserole in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and browning.

Serve with sprinkles of parmesan cheese.

I hope you enjoy his recipe. It is really easy and fairly inexpensive to make. And you can always experiment with it to make it your own.

Have a great day!
