Diet Update

I posted on Monday that I started my Slim Fast diet. I am happy to say that I have lost 7 lbs. since Monday! I have to admit that the stress of this week has aided in the amount of weight I have lost, but regardless, I am losing! The first couple of days were a little hard hunger wise. I had to time my snacks out so that I could get through the day without eating more than I was supposed to.

I have been allowed 1200 calories per day. While that might not seem like a lot of calories,if you plan right, you can make it work. You are allowed 2 shakes each day. On for breakfast and one for lunch. Each shake equals 190 calories. You are also allowed 3 snacks per day. They have snack bars which equal 190, at least the snacks I chose. I got the chocolate mint snack bars which are pretty tasty. And they also give you a list of acceptable snacks which include, fruits, veggies, nuts and other good choices. And your dinner is a well balanced meal of 500 calories.

I chose to eat all my snacks before dinner because I am not usually hungry after dinner anyway. That seemed to work. And I found great recipes from the Slim Fast website. There is something for everyone there. And I have to say that the first recipe we tried was the best! My husband is on the diet with me, which helps a lot. We made a roasted chicken recipe which tasted like the best thing we ever ate that night. I am not sure how much of it was because we were hungry, but I will venture to say that we probably would have liked it anyway.
