A Christmas Tradition

Published December 29, 2014 by suejansons

My husband didn’t know it at the time, but 4 years ago he started a Christmas Tradition. He sent me flowers to work on Christmas Eve. They weren’t just flowers though. It was a beautiful arrangement that included a Thomas Kincaid Piece surrounded by beautiful flowers of red and white and fragrant pine sprigs and holly berries. I was not expecting them, and I was totally surprised! They were absolutely gorgeous!

I found out that there is a Thomas Kincaid piece each year! You can only imagine that I would want to collect each one from now on! So, for the last 4 years he gets me a beautiful arrangement featuring that year’s Kincaid piece. It is something I look forward to each year. They can be a bit pricey, but we plan for it. We cannot break this tradition now. LOL

Here is the 2012 version.

Here is 2013.

I really love this one. It has a glass insert with the North Star etched into it.

And here is this years piece. It is called I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. It lights up and has a flickering fireplace in the background! Absolutely gorgeous!

All the girls in my office are still talking about them! I am one lucky lady! Thank you, Steven! You are the best!

Hope you all have holiday traditions that you look forward to, and maybe you can talk your significant other into starting a new one for you too!

Music Monday December 29, 2014 The Year in Review

Published December 29, 2014 by suejansons

I am back! The holidays were very busy around here and I did not have a lot of time to post anything. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

So the year is coming to an end, and there were so many good songs. I posted a few of them here on my Music Monday posts. Hopefully you checked them out!

Well, I was thinking this was a good time to really review them, and guess what? There is a Mash Up of all the popular songs! DJ Earworm does this every year! I must say, I think he did an excellent job mixing them together. I am a little disappointed that some of my favorites were not included, but maybe they just didn’t go with the whole mix.

So for your enjoyment, here is United State of Pop 2014! Happy New Year!

Wow, I was doing a bit of blog hopping when I found a video containing the story of a homeless man in Chicago. the video linked to an account on YouTube that had a link to their site

The site is set up by a cameraman who has been homeless himself too and he felt the need to do something. as he tells it on his about page

The purpose of this vlog is to make the invisible visible. I hope these people and their stories connect with you and don’t let go. I hope their conversations with me will start a conversation in your circle of friends.

After you get to know someone by watching their story, please pause for a few moments and write your thoughts in the comments section, or maybe email them to a friend and link back to this vlog . By keeping this dialog open…

Music Monday on Wednesday!

Published December 17, 2014 by suejansons

So, I have not been feeling well these last few days. I think a cold is trying to set in, but I am fighting it. Needless to say, I did not get to post anything these last few days…… (sigh!).

So my plan was to post a Christmas Lightshow video for you. I just love them. I find the creativity amazing! Some people may find these videos corny, but I don’t care.

So here are a few videos I found particularly good or cute. Enjoy!

Here is a very cute one!

In case you haven’t heard Gangnam Style enough, here is the Christmas Edition!

Enjoy your holidays!

Death of a Stranger

Published December 14, 2014 by suejansons

homelessLast Friday night, In a single room on the third floor of a house in Bournemouth Town Centre, a young man I did not know and never met took his own life.

His short, troubled life was brought to a sad and lonely end by a suspected overdose from non-prescription drugs. His death is all the more tragic because it passed unknown and unrecorded throughout the weekend.

In fact the passing of this young man only came to the attention of the authorities on the following Monday, when another resident in the building, in the very next room, complained to the Landlord that there was a terrible smell coming from room number 7.

Not one word of this young man’s death has made the local newspaper; apart from a few residents at the property and those they may have told, his passing has remained almost a secret. Almost.

The young…
