Stained Glass Quilts

Published February 5, 2017 by suejansons

I joined a quilt guild! I haven’t gone to my first meeting yet, but yesterday I had the chance to take a class set up by the guild! And let me tell you it was AWESOME!
Even though I have been quilting for a while, I haven’t really immersed myself into this world until recently. There are sooooo many things I never knew or heard of and my mind is being blown almost on a daily basis!
The class was Stained Glass Quilts. If you haven’t heard of the “remarkable” Mark Sherman, check him out now! Remarkable Quilts Don’t walk, run!

This is a quilt he made that he had on display! The picture does not even do it justice! And we were allowed to touch it and really check it out!

We each got a kit. This included the basics needed to start. It really was a fun process. One thing that was not included that is needed is a light box. Mark had some for people to use, but most of us had our own.
If you don’t know what a light box is, it is basically a board the emits light so you can trace things on it.
Here are some pictures of my progress.

I can’t give all the secrets away, but I can tell you that Mark shared everything there was to know. So much information that I probably didn’t retain 50%!
I chose to purchase his DVD so I can finish this up the right way! I am excited to see how it turns out! Unfortunately, my schedule is packed so I am not sure exactly when I will finish it, but my goal is to complete it by the end of the month!
I will certainly share it when complete, so come back to check it out!
Today we are going to Epcot for their new Art Festival! I hope to share some cool pics of the happenings there!
Until next time, happy crafting!

  • Hi Sue, I’ll be linking to your blog in my post of Sunday, March 12, for the “One Lovely Blog Award”. As far as I know there isn’t really any award, it’s just a chain to help people discover new blogs. Check it out Sunday and you’ll see how to pass it on! ( Mary
