Music Monday January 19 on Wednesday January 21, 2015

Published January 21, 2015 by suejansons

Now this song is sure to get you in a good mood if you are having a bad day! I am going to put this song in my walking music rotation!

And does Bruno Mars look like Michael Jackson in this video or what? Yes, I know he used to impersonate him, but come on! I don’t even think he is trying! LOL

And I love how Mark Ronson shows up hear and there. And my favorite part of the video is the long haired guy at the end “Say What?” He cracks me up!

And my favorite words are at the bridge….. Dance, Jump On It, If Your Sexy Then Flaunt It, If Your Freaky, Then Own It, Don’t Brag About It, Just Show Me!

So hope this video brightens your day! And I hope my schedule allows me to post these videos on Monday like I am supposed to!

Music Monday January 12, 2015

Last week, I chose Tove Lo’s Habits. It reminded me of when I was going through a bad break up. This week, I thought I would post a video of the next stage, which is anger! LOL

I chose La Roux’s Bullet Proof. I heard this song yesterday when hubby and I were having lunch This is definitely a song for the angry stage. It has a catchy beat for sure. The video reminds me of the 80’s. It looks to me like what everyone in the 80’s thought we would look like in the future! Don’t you agree?

I guess she is a one hit wonder. I haven’t heard of her before and I haven’t anything from her since. I think this song is like 5 years old now. But, there is nothing wrong with that. I would rather have that then to never make it, if I were in the music biz.

Not sure if break up and recovery will be my theme for the next couple of Music Monday’s, but it just seemed like they went hand in hand.

Hope you are having a great Monday where ever you are. It is raining cats and dogs here in Orlando.

See ya next time!

Music Monday January 5, 2015 (A Day Late)

Published January 6, 2015 by suejansons

This post is late because I had to take my step daughter to a Rainbow Girls function about an hour away and I didn’t get home until late. Sorry!

So I chose “Habits” by Tove Lo for this episode. I like the funky beat and I am a sucker for melancholy songs. The video reminds me of when I was going through my divorce. Things got really bad, and you can read about some of it here. Anyway, I am sure most of us have gone through a bad break up at some point in our lives, and many of us have dealt with it by drinking or numbing ourselves in some way.

I do like the way the video was shot. It adds an odd perspective to all that going on in this video. I did not go to quite the extremes that this video depicts, but I could see how someone would.

I am not sure where this song ranked in the year end count down, but I would imagine it was in the top 20.

Here you go! Enjoy!

Music Monday December 29, 2014 The Year in Review

Published December 29, 2014 by suejansons

I am back! The holidays were very busy around here and I did not have a lot of time to post anything. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

So the year is coming to an end, and there were so many good songs. I posted a few of them here on my Music Monday posts. Hopefully you checked them out!

Well, I was thinking this was a good time to really review them, and guess what? There is a Mash Up of all the popular songs! DJ Earworm does this every year! I must say, I think he did an excellent job mixing them together. I am a little disappointed that some of my favorites were not included, but maybe they just didn’t go with the whole mix.

So for your enjoyment, here is United State of Pop 2014! Happy New Year!

Music Monday on Wednesday!

Published December 17, 2014 by suejansons

So, I have not been feeling well these last few days. I think a cold is trying to set in, but I am fighting it. Needless to say, I did not get to post anything these last few days…… (sigh!).

So my plan was to post a Christmas Lightshow video for you. I just love them. I find the creativity amazing! Some people may find these videos corny, but I don’t care.

So here are a few videos I found particularly good or cute. Enjoy!

Here is a very cute one!

In case you haven’t heard Gangnam Style enough, here is the Christmas Edition!

Enjoy your holidays!

Music Monday December 1, 2014

Published December 1, 2014 by suejansons

It’s been a while since I have done a Music Monday Post, but I am so happy to be doing it!

Today I chose Blame by Calvin Harris, featuring John Newman. The thing I like most about this song is the beat. It is a fast and catchy song. The weird part to me is that the words are really sad, but the music is very upbeat. This is the kind of song I would listen to while getting ready for work or even working out (whenever I start doing that).

I don’t really get the video, but that’s ok with me. I don’t need to get it. Hahahaha!

Hope you enjoy this song and I hope you had a marvelous Monday! And here’s to a great rest of the week as well!

Today’s pick is a little different than usual. I chose Linkin Park doing a cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep.” This video is from the 2011 iTunes Festival in London. I think it shows the softer side of the band. Most people know them for their mix of Hip Hop and Metal, but they are so much more than that. I am lucky enough to have seen them live twice and both were awesome shows. I know the band may not appeal to everyone, but this song definitely shows their musical ability, in my opinion. And of course, it is an Adele song. Who does not like Adele, anyway? And this is one of my favorite songs from her.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Summertime Sadness

Published February 21, 2014 by suejansons

What a crazy, cold, snowy winter we have had! And it is not quite over yet. Even here in Florida, we have had cold and crazy weather. But, spring is on it’s way! I am sure you are all ready for the change of seasons.
I am posting the “Summertime Sadness” video by Lana Del Ray because let’s face it, we are all missing summer. This remix has a pretty upbeat tempo to get you moving on this fantastic Friday! The weekend is here, even if summer isn’t. Let’s dream of the warm weather and all the plans we can make when it gets here!

Music Monday Episode 5

Published February 17, 2014 by suejansons

I have been trying to hold off posting a Coldplay song, because they are one of my most favorite bands and I don’t want to seem biased. For my wedding ceremony, all the music that was played was Coldplay if that gives you any indication of how much I love them.
I have seen them 3 times in concert, and they put on one heck of a show! And the vibe of the crowd is so cool and mellow! I highly recommend seeing them in concert, if you can get tickets. They sell out fast!
I was reminded of seeing them in concert last night on my way home from the Moose Lodge. My husband put in a new stereo in my car and I can now hook up my iPod or iPhone! So, I have been loving listening to all my songs. I have it on shuffle so I can get surprised!
Anyway, this live version started playing, and it reminded me of how much I love Coldplay!

I hope you are having a good Monday, and I hope you enjoy this video!

Like a Star by Corinne Bailey Rae

Published February 13, 2014 by suejansons

I dedicate this song and video to my wonderful husband! Happy Valentine’s Day! This was the song we danced to on our wedding day. I love the video because it has a wedding feel to it. And I think the paper birds hanging from the ceiling look really cool, almost like everything else is still except for Corinne singing.
The song has a very nice romantic feel, which is why I chose it. Very soft and easy. Just thinking about this song is making me want to cry.
If you are not familiar with this singer and like this song, I recommend that you check out her music. I love it all. And I will add a little known fact about her. Before she started singing solo, she was in a Led Zeppelin cover band! How cool is that?

Happy Valentine’s Day!
